Finds identified IV

They say if you can find work doing something you love, then it’s not like work at all. It’s fairy obvious that my passion is metal detecting, so when the hobby filters into my day job as a graphic designer, it feels like a real blessing. I have written a similar blog to this a few years back, when I had the brilliant opportunity to work on the design and layout of Finds Identified III. It’s tough not to repeat myself, because the process for putting this book together was pretty much the same as the last one, but the only difference this time is that I had the comfort of knowing what that process was. So I’m not going to repeat myself, if you want to know what the process was then you can refer to my blog post on Finds Identified III.
I have known that this book was in the works since I spoke to the guys from Greenlight Publishing at Detectival 2025. It’s always great to catch up with the Treasure Hunting Magazine team, and even better when you’re asked if you’d be up for doing the next book in the Finds Identified series. After finding out that I would be getting my greasy paws on this wonderful book series again, I had been chomping at the bit to get my teeth stuck in to it. But it wasn’t until March 2026 that the final draft of the text and images arrived in my inbox. A few months after that when the final design and layout had been signed off, it was then a waiting game wondering when the finished book would arrive on my doorstop, and today is that day!
It’s a great feeling when something you have worked on for a good amount of time finally materialises as a finished hardback book. I feel privileged that Kevin Leahy and Michael Lewis have trusted me once again with their years of hard work compiling this book, and even better that ther are happy with the end result. Lastly I would like to thank the guys at Treasure Hunting Magazine and Greenlight Publishing for letting me loose on Finds Identified IV. I have thoroughly enjoyed the process once again, and hopefully this won’t be the last time that my name appears on the credits to one of these fabulous books. It never gets old seeing your name in print!
